I read an article last week that talked about the surgical removal of stretch marks. It was a very small brief article so I was unable to get a whole lot out of it. The one thing I did get out of it was that removing the stretch mark surgically could result in scarring. Now I am not sure for most people which would be worse, the stretch marks or the scars. As far as I am concerned I do know. For me it would be the scarring. My sister and I have an odd condition. I think my oldest my have it too. Once the muscle is cut we develop an excess of scar tissue.
Over time as the muscle heals the scar tissue grows. Leaving us with a thick hard mass along the incision. Eventually that scar tissue has to be removed. Beginning the whole process again. Now nether one of us has had to have any surgeries since the implementation of lasers in most surgeries so I am not sure what we would do. I do have two questions though. The first is about the lasers. Will we heal better using the laser surgery than we did with the scalpel cuts? The other is about the stretch marks. Since my stretch marks sit on a really thick layer of fat instead of muscle will I still have the scar tissue issue.
